John and Fabi decided to tie the knot on the gorgeous beach of the Westin Resort in Grand Cayman They journeyed from Canada to meet up with their family and friends who came from all over the globe to witness these two join their lives together. The night before the wedding the couple organized a ‘welcome dinner’ on the beach with smores by the ocean for after. Everyone relaxed on the beach as they got to meet the families and get to know each other. The wedding was perfect with so many details. Congrats guys!
Here is their story…..
John and Fabi met in 2006 while completing their MBA at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. John was born and raised in Toronto, and lived in Montreal before moving to Kingston to return to school and ultimately meet the girl of his dreams. Fabi was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and one of her ultimate goals was to complete her MBA in a foreign country. And so these two souls, born and raised in opposite hemispheres, were brought together by destiny in this small town on the sunny shores of Lake Ontario.
Even in the early days of their dating, John told his mom that he had met the girl he would one day marry. He was in love with her outgoing personality, sense of humour, and natural beauty. John and Fabi moved to Toronto after school and dated for four blissful years. They share a love of travel and over that time voyaged to France, Bonaire, Antigua, Hawaii, Peru, and many other memorable places.
They also share a passion for running and triathlons, and during that time participated in many events throughout North America. One of these would be especially memorable. On St. Patrick’s Day, 2013, as Fabi crossed the finish line of the New York City Half Marathon, John, waiting with a smile of his face, got down on one knee with ring in hand and proposed to his girl. After being shocked to warmth on this very cold March morning, Fabi cried out “Yes!”
They celebrated their engagement later that July surrounded by family and friends at a local yacht club. For the wedding, John’s only requirement was that he wanted to be barefoot. Lucky for him, Fabi’s idea of a perfect wedding was to be in front of the ocean at sunset, and that is how they decided to be married in Paradise: Grand Cayman. It was by all accounts a perfect wedding. And so, in this love story only just begun, starts the next chapter of their exciting life together.
