We were relaxing on the Beach at South Sound after swimming. I was resting my eyes when I felt a box on my chest. I wake up to find a ring box. I open it up to the most beautiful ring from one of our favorite Jewelry places on the islands Benard Passman. He looks at me expectantly and I say you haven’t asked me a question yet with a smirk on my face.
My dress is a wonderful swirlyness of tulle made by @pronovias! I never wanted a full on white wedding dress but the moment I put this dress on I felt and looked amazing. I couldn’t get enough of the skirt! @thebridalboxoxford were great in making sure that the dress was a perfect for the day. If I could find a way to make it everyday wear I would be ecstatic as even today I still want to wear the dress.
The reveal was our favorite moment. It was the only private and intimate part of the wedding that felt special just for us. Sneaking up on Kern and seeing his face of wonder and awe was so worth it. Kern enjoyed it as it was the one area of surprise where he wasn’t sure what was going to happen and he didn’t have to share it with anyone else.
Relax and have fun with it but most importantly trust and give the control to your photographer! They know what is best and will make sure you look amazing and are having a great time!
Magical. It’s like a blur of wonderfulness. There was laughter at all times, the vibe was relaxed and chilled, the food was delicious(we actually got to try it all) and everyone was having fun!
Kern and I are completely camera shy people. We would rather be behind the camera than in front. However, working with Rebecca was an amazing experience. The enthusiasm she has for photography is contagious! She made us so comfortable that we could act like goofballs and forget that she was there taking pictures of us. It is one of the best things we decided to do.
We decided to have some fun with the wedding. We have two 5 yr old boys and it was important to have them be part of the wedding so we decided to make sure they had some fun with it. We incorporated 2 of their favorite things Dinosaurs and Bubbles. The dino tails we got from @dancyndesigns were perfect and adorable. In addition, the songs we chose to for the entrance and exit of the wedding were from two of our favorite animations “The Land Before Time” and “Totoro”.
Get a wedding planner, have a strong Maid of Honor and communicate frequently. I have been able to do this and enjoy the whole process without getting stressed because of Sarah Parker at Save the Date and my Maid of Honor Meredith Kummel . They kept me focused and helped me be decisive and knowledgeable of the choices we had to make. Sarah introduced me to vendors she trusted and knew would fit the style of wedding we were looking for and I wouldn’t have been able to do that without her. Meredith was my rock and the day was more enjoyable because of it!
We were calm and very happy. Couldn’t stop smiling.
We were nudged not so gently from all our guests that they wanted a destination wedding. Since Kern’s family lives in the Cayman Islands what better place to have it. It was like a family reunion.
Make sure to make it fun for the both of you, so go and add those little touches that brings out your personality to the wedding and don’t worry so much about tradition. Those are the things we will remember most from the wedding.
Kate Allenger, did an amazing job playing the two special songs that made our ceremony special and unique to us “If we hold on together by Diana Ross” Land Before Time and Totoro Opening Song. I have to thank Jackie Soriano for making me, Meredith Kummel and Julie Anderson look amazing. I was dubious on the fake eye lashes but now am a big fan! If only I could have the patience to learn how to apply the make up as beautifully as she did I would always look good in a picture. The staff at The Wharf were simply wonderful. They were very attentive to us and all the guests. The food was delicious and generous. I only wish that we ordered more of the rum cake as that was so popular that Kern and I both missed out! The Wharf will now become one of our must go to restaurants every time we come back to visit the Cayman Islands. We have never felt so spoiled and looked after as we have with our stay at the @GrandCaymanMarriott. We had an amazing suite that looked over the ocean and the service by Neil on the beach was superb. Many thanks to Sascha and Cinthia that worked with me to make all the bookings for our wedding party possible.
