Sitting on a swing watching the sunset during a romantic getaway to a Plantation B&B near Litchfield Beach, SC.

Corey- Very serene and calm, not anxious at all! Ginger- everything was such a whirlwind… I was excited and both amused and relieved that the sudden 5-min squall passed so quickly!

Our siblings offering us each “advice” about the other. That the littlest kiddos felt at ease enough to play in the sand at our feet during the ceremony. That our children stood up with us, and giving each other’s child(ren) gifts as part of the ceremony. The vows we included about social justice, authenticity, and laughter being so important to us.

Beyond all we’d hoped for! Intimate, casual, light, perfect for us!

Flowers and Decorations: Del Child from The Flower Dell – she listened to what we wanted, paid attention to the details, and delivered everything exactly how we envisioned! She’s a real pro too! Just before the ceremony when an unpredicted sudden storm hit, she and her team lashed down the chuppa and took care of all the decorations so as soon as it cleared a few minutes later, everything was beautiful and ready to go! https://www.facebook.com/The-Flower-Dell-227901877283747/
Chef: Keith Griffin – Keith was wonderful. Flexible. Friendly. Worked with our tastes, vegetarians, and budget. Flexed with our timetable. If anything, more food than we could finish — have had many, many, many compliments on his dinner! caymanpersonalchef.com Michael Lamay – phenomenal steel drums Brian Parchment – Bus driver for getting groups of ~30 around the island

I’m a photographer and have photographed hundreds of weddings, so this comes from being on both sides of the camera… Do some casual family photos the day before the wedding so the photographer gets to know your group and you have some more casual images too. See each other before the wedding! Do the Trash the Dress shoot (and your planks before that — it’s harder than it looks!)

Plan more time than you think you need in case you run late for any reason… then you won’t start out being at all stressed on your wedding day. Go with the flow of the island… communicate what you want in general, but don’t expect to replicate an exact image… every session is different and you’ll miss out on great images if you stifle your photographer’s creativity.

Painstaking, hand-wringing, forehead-sweating, heart-wrenching, TUMs-eating research to find the photographer we thought we’d annoy the least! [With, of course, images I love as a photographer — so her style had to be in keeping with my vision, attention to detail, and eye for quality!]
