The Dress
“I knew exactly what type of dress I wanted so it was a matter of finding the right shop or designer to find my dress! I was scrolling through instagram and came a across an account for a wedding dress boutique in Malta (where i was living at the time) and they were advertising my perfect dress! So when it was the time to go dress shopping I immediately showed them this reel and said this is the dress I want! They brought two other dresses to try on just to see different and similar styles and although they were nice, they weren’t THAT dress. And so I had found my dress at the first shop I went to and the first dress I tried on. Even after purchasing my dress every gown that i had seen after that just made me love my dress even more because it really was exactly what I wanted! What can I say, i know what I want !!”
Cute Story we both have
“Being long distance we couldn’t see each other as often as we would have wanted to. When covid broke out it was especially hard for us since there were not any flights for up to 7 months! So when things slowly started going back to normal, I took the first available flight without telling Soren and surprised him the following morning sat at the table ready to eat breakfast. Such a wholesome moment! Definitely a core memory”
The Grooms Suit
“We had a tailor create the suit for Soren. We got to choose the material together and the style of trousers, waistcoat, blazer and shirt and after taking all the measurements. John the Tailor created the most perfect linen suit for Soren!”
How did you two meet
“We have a lot of friends in common and so we met at a friends pool party in Malta. Soren and his family were on vacation in Malta at the time and so when we met we immediately started talking and no one could shut us up for the rest of that week!! Turned out that both of our families had met before years ago and so did we when we were around 10/11 years old!!”
The Venue
“We wanted something intimate and personal, so we chose the venue because we could stay in the venue for a few days before and after the wedding. We also liked it because they hadn’t done any weddings before but wanted to start getting into it. This allowed us to save a few pennies just because it wasnt a popular wedding venue. And of course other than all of that it was the most beautiful house ever with the the most amazing gardens/ grounds!”

How did Soren pop the question
“We were still long distance when Soren proposed. He had teamed up with my sister and family to create the ultimate proposal! My sister asked if i could help out with an advert for a restaurant that wanted to start catering for events and so they needed models for this shoot! I agreed and was told where to be at what time, what to wear and how my nails should be done! Lol. I turn up with my sister to the agreed location which was a beautiful public garden in malta called lower barrakka gardens in Valletta. My sister started to “panic” because none of the “filming crew” had started to show up yet and none of the “ staff” just a photographer. So to “fill the time” while the “others” arrive, the photographer suggested to take take a few photos to “test the lighting” and it was at that point that I see soren walk into the park and start walking towards me!! All while the photographer is taking all these reaction photos! He got down on one knee and popped the question in the middle of the park and it was just such a beautiful moment”
What were you the most anxious about
“The weather!! For the last THREE MONTHS before the wedding it was nothing but amazing weather. it had been pretty much like summer the whole time. And we had specifically chosen the 26th of May so that we were guaranteed good weather. Obviously, a week before the wedding, the heavens decided to open up and just pour down with rain! We thought it was a freak storm and it will just pass. The real shock was when we checked the weather forecast and it was showing rain all of the following week too! Including the wedding day!!!! At that point we started panic buying tents!!! Any way, come the wedding day the sky opened up again and it was the perfect weather and had it not rained so much we probably would have been too hot or too sticky or had too many mosquitoes. But we didn’t have any of that! It was just right !!!”
Ceremony
“We had a guitarist play during the ceremony and while in the courtyard popping cava! His name is Nanoo and was amazing!!!!”
How did you feel just before you walked down the aisle
“We were both just so excited!”
What was your favourite moment from the wedding
“Seeing all of our closest family and friends have the best time!”
How would you describe your wedding experience
“If we had to do it all over again, we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! It really was just PERFECT!”
What advice would you offer other couples planning a destination wedding
“Probably to know the area of the venue very well and to see the venue a year in advance around the same time / month of your wedding day, this will help to get a better idea of what to expect on the day. it always helps to have a familiar contact in the same area as the wedding. We hired a wedding planner (Raquel Bonnici) and it was the best thing we did because it allowed us to have a stress free day and also she supplied us with all the information we needed and then deal with it herself. This was especially good because being from Malta i had no idea where to start on ANYTHING in Spain, and Soren… well he didn’t have any idea either!!”
Finca Sambana and the views of the Andalusia mountains
What photography advice do you have
“Dont pose too much!!! XD”
Finca Sambana offered stunning views of rolling hills and the perfect sunset
Finca Sambana had different areas for the day. The reception was held at a different side of the venue giving a fantastic party and dance vibe
Unique First Dance
“We didn’t have a first dance but we still dedicated a song for us two and that way everyone could dance and enjoy the song with their significant other along side us!”
First Dance Song
“We just had our first dance song which was ‘ lets stay together’ by seal”
