The villas of the Galleon, on Seven Mile Beach was the ceremony venue for the wedding of Sean and Emily, with a beautiful sandy beach and gorgeous turquoise waters, the setting was perfect. Prior to the ceremony, Emily chose the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman to get ready for her big day. Sean saw Emily for the first time on a private beach and the reaction was perfect. We then headed out to a few places for some local shots and some one on one time with the bride and groom. Then to Villa’s of the Galleon for their gorgeous intimate ceremony. A huge thank you to Lisa, from Villa’s of the Galleon for making Sean and Emily’s day happen at their most favourite place in the world :). After the ceremony we headed over to Grand Cayman Beach Suites for an incredible reception. Hemingway restaurant was just perfect for this couple, as the sun set behind them and they danced the night away.

My Dad has been taking our family to the Cayman Islands since I was a little girl, and when I mentioned marrying at Villas of the Galleon Sean was immediately on board. We had planned a trip before he even proposed, and once he visited the island he was completely in love with it, the date was set and it was full speed ahead. It’s now OUR favorite place!
Do your research. We looked through several talented photographers and would NOT settle for anyone but Rebecca. In fact, we changed our wedding date to ensure we had her…and it was absolutely worth it! Our guests loved her, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how the pictures turned out. It really is THAT IMPORTANT. Not only did the pictures turn out amazing, but she is absolutely so much fun to work with. We actually miss her! Our guests adored her and her the whole PIcture This team. They’re a group of loving individuals that you will want there on your special day, they make it fun.
We did! I never would have thought we would have done the “First Look” and I’m so happy that we did. Looking back, spending that time together was one of the most treasured parts of the day, It was intimate and special. We felt like celebrities on our own private island capturing the best moment in our lives thus far.
How did you two meet?
We both have a mutual friend that played the matchmaker. He has an annual Superbowl party and invited me with the intention of introducing us. Sean knew this was the big setup but I didn’t, and actually wasn’t even going to go to the party (I almost missed my flight back from Houston visiting my sister.)I called my friend to tell him I was too tired to make his party. He just said, “Great! I’ll see you in 30 minutes” I made it to the party where this cute guy started making eye contact (I still didn’t know about the setup). A few minutes later our friend introduced me to Sean and we spent the entire time talking. I still don’t remember who played in that game.
Absolutely amazing! Cayman is the ultimate place to marry, it’s not just a wedding, it’s an experience for everyone. All of our guests were just overwhelmed by the beauty, the hospitality, the wonderful food and the carefree spirit. We couldn’t have picked a more ideal setting or group of people. Surrounded by love in paradise? That’s just heavenly.
Know what’s important to you. For us, we knew that amazing photography was essential and we wanted the best. We booked Rebecca early and found a great planner to assist us with the rest. Get your save the dates out and invite the people you care about. You will put a lot of love, energy, and thought into your wedding and you will want people there to share those moments, a LOT goes into the planning, enjoy every moment leading up to it.
I love the sequence of the next set of pictures….. Sean turns around to get the rings off his best man, but the best man had forgot them in the room. Sean quickly tells him to go get them so they run off but cannot find them. So Sean had to pop back to the room to find them. It was so funny and everyone was so laid back they just laughed and joked the whole time. I am sure this story is going to be told a lot. 🙂
Try doing your engagement shoot with Rebecca if you can! She’s the best and it gives you a chance to loosen up, get comfortable, and enjoy taking pictures together. It is so much fun! Also, don’t be afraid to let your photographer know which shots you are drawn to, a Pintrest board is an easy way to do this.
