How did you two meet

We met years ago through the bride’s middle school best friend, who is the groom’s aunt (her daughters were 2 of our flower girls!). We’d see each other often at family occasions and Seaford openly claims to have always liked me since then. However it wasn’t until 2020 when we crossed paths once again that sparks flew! Seaford asked me out on a first date for lunch at Czech Inn and then we visited a farm- the same one he worked on when he was a teen. We got to pet the cows, see piglets, and went for a ride around all the pens. It was the first of many adventures that we would have together. Fun fact: the couple who owns the farm attended our wedding!

Tell me about your dress

In the midst of COVID-19 regulations and challenges, I opted to shop for my dress online. The idea completely freaked me out, as I always imagined having the in-store experience of saying yes to the dress. However, I tried my best to make the virtual shopping experience special by sending possible dress options to my mom and bridesmaids for their feedback. Through lots of conversations, pros and cons lists and staring at the same two photos over and over, I finally settled on the dress. It was bittersweet to find the dress in this way, but once it arrived, trying it on was an super special moment! It was classic, romantic and had a princess-like feel, which was exactly what I was looking for… And the train was absolutely stunning.

Who made your flowers

Del from Flower Dell brought our floral dreams to life with dusty rose amnesia, sprigs of limonium, eucalyptus, baby breath and more.

Decorations

A combined effort of Flower Dell, Celebrations, and our special neon sign was from Amanda Jane Pennington at Direction Event Planning. We also did a lot of the decor ourselves, with the help of my maid of honor and bridesmaids!

Tell us something unique about your wedding

We had 3 flower girls and one ring bearer, all super important and beautiful little girls in our lives. Our ring bearer was Katherine’s adorable goddaughter. 2 of our flower girls are Seaford’s aunt’s daughters, and the other is his only niece. She holds a very special place in Seaford’s heart and totally knows it. During the reception, they shared moments of pure adoration and had a very special dance together, with Seaford holding her in his arms as they spun around the dancefloor.

How did you feel during your vows or just before you walked down the aisle

Seaford says that before the ceremony even started, he felt an overwhelming amount of love on the day. And although I echo that, especially with being surrounded by my girls from bright and early in the morning, as soon as I got to the venue, I felt extremely nervous, especially as I began walking down the aisle. Not because of who was waiting for me at the end of it (that excited me!), but because I suddenly realized 100+ people were watching me do it, haha! As soon as I saw Seaford, my heart warmed, my smile grew, and I felt like quickening my pace to just get to the end even faster… And when he fell to his knees, I wanted to as well. When I finally made it to him and could hold his hands, I immediately felt less nervous and more ready than ever to become his wife. We both couldn’t stop smiling throughout the entire ceremony! We were finally at the moment we talked about for years.

What was your favourite moments from the wedding

Besides actually becoming husband and wife, which is definitely the top favorite moment… We were both advised beforehand to ensure we pause on the day, and take it all in. And so we did. At the reception, while everyone was eating, chatting, and laughing, we looked around and saw all of our loved ones who have played such key roles in our lives and truly admired their love and support. Soaking in that feeling has filled us up with so much joy, we’ll never forget it. Another favorite moment was being out on the dance floor with everyone! It was so much fun to have a great time with our loved ones. We’d never smiled so hard and so much in one day, ever!

Unique items in your wedding

I’ve always loved the idea of confetti cones filled with flower petals that are tossed in the air during the recessional. To add a personalized twist to this, we used actual published articles that Seaford wrote to create the newspaper confetti cones!

We also were gifted personalized candles from my cousin (and bridesmaid)! She worked hard to create over 100 wedding guest favors through her candle company Lively You. They were so beautiful, and smelled amazing!

How would you describe your overall wedding experience

Our wedding was the best day ever. It was a lot of work getting it all organized, but to look around and see how it all came together, it was so worth it. We really couldn’t have done it without help from our loved ones. Our families and bridal party were so helpful, and I have to give a shout-out to my sister and maid of honor. She was amazing in holding my hand along the way – while Seaford held my other one. We’re so blessed to have been able to have the wedding we did, and even more blessed to have people in our lives who genuinely care for us. The love was palpable. As one of Seaford’s groomsmen said in his speech, “There is no better feeling than to love and be loved in return.”

What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?

Something Seaford and I were both a little nervous about was reading our personal vows while at the altar. They were so special to us and it would be the first time ever doing anything like that – sharing our most deepest emotions to a crowd of people, even though they are our loved ones! We went back and forth on this a lot, but decided because we wanted to declare our love in this way, we would read our short personalized vows and then repeat the traditional vows.

The night before the wedding, the idea of reading my vows in front of everyone definitely kept me up a little. I didn’t want to mess up as I knew I’d already be nervous up there! Then on the day, when the time came for vows, the officiant instructed us to repeat the traditional vows. My MOH already pulled out my vow book and had it ready to go but there was no mention of personal vows being read at all. She leaned over to ask the officiant about them and I quickly just motioned a “nope” to her like, that’s alright, we can forget about that.

In the moment, I was so happy the officiant forgot about our personal vows because I don’t think I could have delivered them accurately with the beautiful mess of emotions I was feeling! After the ceremony, during our couple portraits, we read our vows in a private space to one another. This was better than I could have ever imagined. We shared the promises we wrote for one another in an intimate setting, looking into each other’s eyes, without a worry about messing up. And they’re still captured on video for our loved ones to hear!

What was memorable about taking pictures with your bridal party

Everyone looked so beautiful. It was wonderful being surrounded by the persons who are literally like family to us. They’ve been by our sides throughout this journey and it just meant a lot to have them there with us! And for me, with my crew of 8 bridesmaids, it literally felt like we had a mini party before the wedding. Just lots of fun, laughs and love! So glad we got these shots that truly capture our love, respect and support for one another.

What made you choose your venue for your wedding?

The biggest selling point for choosing our venue was the rooftop sunset view. Having that as our backdrop was gorgeous!

How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day

Working with Rebecca on our wedding day was fantastic! She is so talented and thoughtful, ensuring she found ways to get the shots we wanted even in the midst of a hundred moving pieces. And she definitely pulled off some miracles – including capturing our family photos. We appreciated her sense of humor that helped draw out genuine laughs from everyone and her kindness that settled any nerves. She never hindered any experience on our special day, but really just added to them!! We are so grateful to have worked with such an amazing and talented person.
