When I got to Rum Point Beach for the wedding of Brian and Lisa I knew it was going to be emotional… all the little details, the little flower girls everything was just gorgeous… so here is there cute story…
Brian and I have a special connection that we thought only existed through movies and thoughts of what we wanted in our pasts. Our relationship just naturally took a course that we never expected. Everywhere we go together is always enjoyable. We just enjoy each other’s company all the time. Even laying in bed at night, if we aren’t cuddling we will hold hands. When everyone asked where we were honeymooning, we said that our life together is like a honeymoon. Brian always shares the memory of a time when we met at Seven Spring Ski Resort for an education convention. He came out to meet me after I pulled in. I hadn’t seen him for a while and when I got out of the car without thinking I just jumped up, wrapped my arms and legs around him hugging so tight. He said that’s one of his favorite moments and when he knew. We have so many special moments that are priceless. We can’t wait for the rest of our lives together.
I instantly thought linen would be perfect on the beach for him. I searched online and found the perfect shirt and pants on the Wedding Tropics website. He looked perfect!
Shirt was Colima Italian Linen and Pants were Volo Italian Linen purchased from Wedding Tropics.
I only went to several boutiques. I was open to try anything and wanted white. My daughter in law was with me on the final choosing. She asked me to try on a blush color dress. After trying on 3 others, I knew the blush color dress was it! It was different and thought it would be perfect for the beach and our “trash the dress”. My daughter was finishing her senior year requirements at Penn State University, and couldn’t be there for this appointment :(, so we face timed to know it was the one, and of course… I cried. The added moment to seal the deal was when a random woman was walking by and said, “girl…that’s your dress! It was great and added so much to that special moment.
We met at the school where I teach. He was the contractor I chose to build my climbing wall. About 4 years later he came back for an inspection and asked me to lunch. I said, “I would love to” and our lives took a whirlwind turn from there that neither of us ever expected.
We were on Cayman Island in December staying at a villa on the beach in North Side for our winter vacation. I was dressing for dinner and he said let’s go out and take pictures before we leave. He led me down holding my hand under a leaning palm tree on that beautiful ocean!. As we arrived under the tree, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was blown away and surprised that my best friend and I were going to get married.
I felt so excited that I was about to marry the love of my life and my best friend. My heart was racing so fast and I was so happy my children escorted me.
We did not see each other before the wedding. We liked waiting and the anticipation of seeing each other at the moment we would get married.
I liked all of the small items that I found to fit our theme. The barefoot sandals, ring box, the flower girl pail we made together and the flowers we had made.
Hard to pick a favorite moment. We felt like we were in a dream! Everyone was so helpful and happy to be around. What more can you ask for than to be on a beautiful island, the love of your life, and family to share this once in a lifetime experience. To be more specific, my children by my side walking me towards my soon to be husband, when we shared our vows and just spending time together on the beach celebrating together. Brian’s favorite moments were the anticipation of seeing me walking down to him, watching me walking down the aisle and watching Macy not know what to do with the flowers…haha!
Our overall wedding experience was like a dream!!! Everything was perfect from our wedding location to the people that helped make the day perfect . We wouldn’t have changed anything. We feel so lucky and the happiest we’ve ever been.
Use the resources that we did to make it the perfect experience.
Haha….. only if it rained. We would just have accepted it anyway though and made the best of it. We were more excited than anything else. No fears or nervousness.
To use Rebecca and Noah! They were unbelievable and so delightful to work with.
I can’t wait to see the one on the rocks and the beach where we were all laughing and enjoying getting pictures together.
How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day?
Our experience working with you couldn’t have been better. You were so flexible, fun, and creative , especially adding another location the next day for our trash the dress session.
Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. Since we had a small wedding we never chose a certain song to dance to. That song came on he grabbed my hand …. then we just stood up and danced.
That’s where he proposed and when we went to Rum Point for dinner we knew that’s where we wanted to get married.
Thank you so much, Rebecca. We are blown away by your creativity and absolutely LOVE our pictures. I cried looking at them all ! You are amazing!
