All about the venue

We booked our whole wedding in 5 months so we didn’t get a chance to see our venue or trial and food, makeup, hair etc.

As you can see, the venue was stunning. The setting and views stole the show for us. We always envisioned having a pool party the day after and the amazing pool with built in jacuzzi was a big hit for us and our guests.

All about the dress

My dress is Posie by Made With Love. It was love at first sight with the MWL dresses, I searched the internet high and low and something just stood out to me about this brand as I just loved every single one of their dresses. I went to Perla Nova with another dress in mind (Huxley, A-line with a leg slit and lace boned bodice) but after trying on nearly every dress from MWL it became apparent that Posie was the one. I was drawn to the sparkle and the texture. It made me feel so beautiful and I absolutely loved wearing her.

How did you both meet

We met at the age of 16, at college. Cynnie arrived to business studies to find the only remaining seat was next to Dan. The rest is history.

How did Dan pop the question

Our first holiday in 2009 was in Rhodes (both aged 18). 12 years later we were holidaying in Rhodes again when Dan suggested a moonlit walk down the beach. We were walking hand in hand down the beach when Dan dropped to one knee and proposed and obviously Cynnie said YES!

How did you feel walking down the aisle

I thought I would feel nervous but I felt nothing but happiness walking towards my soon to be husband.

All about the ‘FIRST’ kiss

The first kiss was great. I think it’s always likely to be slightly nerve wracking kissing in front of all your family and friends, but it is a great moment after the emotional high of reading the vows and exchanging the rings :).

Unique details

We wrote our own vows which felt really special and made the ceremony really personalized to us.

Any traditions

We didn’t spend the night before apart and we did not have a top table, we sat and enjoyed our meal with our guests which was a great choice! Cynnie also walked herself down the aisle.

How was it taking pictures with your photo/video crew

It was great working with Wild Love, we generally don’t have the best photos together (one of us – Dan – always seems to be mid blink), but it was a pleasure getting the photos taken. They all felt very natural and Wild Love did an amazing job at keeping everything high energy which made our lives so easy.

Any anxiety about the day….

We were anxious about the weather as it was forecasted rainfall. Thankfully, our planners Sunshine Weddings, helped us organise a Carpa tent at the last minute so we stopped worrying about the rain as we had secured a cover.

It turns out the weather was even worse than forecasted, we had rain and storms but we can wholeheartedly say the rain did not dampen our fun, our guests were spilling over the dance floor onto the lawn and the lightning and thunder just added to buzzing vibes on the dance floor!

We were a little late choosing our first dance song ‘All of me – John Legend’ but DJ Kmiss did an amazing job singing it on our big day and our bridesmaid Holly saved the day and helped us choreograph the first dance the day before, so we didn’t have to do the dreaded two step 😂
