It was an absolute dream! Everyone worked together to make every detail so special—we keep saying we wish we could go back and do it all over again.

Justin and I met August 1, 2015 at my apartment swimming pool in Dallas (he was visiting friends who lived in the same building). After discovering we attended the same church and had mutual friends, we exchanged numbers. Over the next few weeks, we attended The Porch (a young adults ministry at Watermark Church) together, and began dating shortly after.

We chose a very classic Vera Wang black tuxedo because we wanted a timeless look.

I have always loved the ethereal look of tulle. I chose this particular dress because it was SO comfortable. The midsection was made of a stretchy material and it was very lightweight—perfect for an outdoor wedding. After ordering the dress, I found out that it was made in the Netherlands, just three blocks from where Justin and I got engaged.

In April of 2017 Justin surprised me by planning a two-week trip to Europe. The trip began in Paris and continued through London, Belgium, and the Netherlands. It had been a life goal for each of us to travel Europe, so experiencing it together was quite literally a dream come true. As if that was not enough, Justin had another surprise (or two) up his sleeve. On April 25, 2017, we attended the Tulip Festival at Keukenhof Botanical Gardens in the Netherlands. Of all the beautiful and historic places we visited in Europe, nothing compared to the countless acres of bright, colorful tulips, as far as the eye could see. While we were there, Justin took me to a bench in a quiet part of the garden, where we could be alone. He took a small box out of his coat pocket and gave it to me. When I opened it, I discovered a small figurine of a bobcat. The bobcat was Justin’s clever way of informing me that (unbeknownst to me) he had purchased the house we both loved, located on Bobcat Lane in McKinney, Texas. Before I could even take it all in, he was on one knee, as he took out yet another small box. This one contained a beautiful solitaire diamond ring, and came with an equally beautiful proposal. We both shed tears of joy, and of course, I said yes!

I showed horses my entire life. From the time I was 6 until I went off to college, I spent every waking moment at the barn. For my “something blue” I carried a horsehair bracelet around my bouquet. The bracelet was made from the tail of my favorite show horse, named L.A. Blues aka “Blue.” Blue carried me to my first national championship title, and I got to carry him with me when I walked down the aisle. Blue passed away several years ago, but carrying his memory with me on my wedding day was so special.

Do it! We are so glad we did. Also: arrive several days early to get settled in.

I was terrified that I would fall while walking down the large staircase to the great lawn. I was walking in new (slippery) shoes with a lot of dress, so I told my dad to hold on to me tight! We took it slowly and thankfully I did not falter.

Excited, emotional, and full of joy!

No—we wanted it to be a surprise (and I wanted to see Justin’s face/reaction as I walked down the aisle and he saw me in my dress for the first time). I am so glad we did it that way. It made the walk down the aisle even more special.

When my dad shocked us all with his tearjerker of a speech before he gave me away—I don’t think there was a dry eye present. It was so special and meaningful, and something I will never forget.

I cannot say enough good things about Rebecca! Not only is she so much fun to work with, she is so gifted! She is great at directing and positioning us when needed, and capturing candid moments as well. By the end of the evening, we felt like she was part of the family. She was so comfortable for everyone to be around.

After we decided we wanted to do a destination wedding, my mom looked for a magazine to help her plan. She found one titled: Cayman Vows. On page 2, there was a beautiful picture that was taken by Rebecca Davidson. Upon further research online, we discovered that she has the reputation of being the best photographer on the island. I asked our wedding coordinator to book her and felt so fortunate to be able to have her shoot my wedding. All week long, while we were in Grand Cayman people asked me what photographer we used at our wedding. Every single time, when I said “Rebecca Davidson” people responded with glowing reports.
