Brandi and Brett chose a Pedro St. James wedding for their celebration in the Cayman Islands. They chose this venue because they wanted a grassy garden setting but with a view of the water, so naturally Pedro was top of their mind. While its super popular for events in Cayman, it was something different than the typical beach wedding for their out-of-town guests.

Tell Us about your dress
I actually found my dress on Instagram! It was the first dress I tried on at Lovely Bride in NYC with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and both Maids of Honor. It was so simple and timeless and the tulle shoulder wrap made it very unique for the ceremony.
Were there any unique items in your wedding that you would like to highlight?
The earrings and bracelet I wore for the ceremony were my mums, having her physically with me was so very important. I also had my great grandmothers spanish bible tied to my bouquet! It’s about 100 years old if not more, she brought it with her from Mexico to Cayman when she got married, and every woman in my family has worn it on their bouquet ever since

How did Brett find his suit
Brett was on the hunt for a suit light enough to handle the Cayman heat. He ended up finding this one online at Suitsupply, and they happened to have one left for him to try on in their store on Madison Avenue during his lunch break! The blue herringbone material is so pretty and unusual, and very very him! The white on white shirt and bow tie combo was inspired by Ryan Reynolds at the Oscars (thanks Ryan!).
How did you two meet?
We met interning at a media agency in NYC in the summer of 2013. It definitely wasn’t love at first sight, Brett was wearing a VERY loud pink and green plaid button down which was initially concerning. But he was extremely persistent in asking me out to lunch everyday (a key character trait I would later come to realise) and after a couple weeks I finally gave in! We did a bit of long distance from London to New Orleans but ended up in NYC together soon after, and have been there ever since.
How did he pop the question?
We planned a trip to Cayman for Brett’s family to meet my own during my cousins wedding weekend. He had apparently been conspiring with my best friend Briana for a few months, and they planned a “happy hour” at her house one evening. Brett asked if we could get there early to take her pup Franklin for a walk to Smiths Cove – it was starting to rain and I was definitely not in the mood but we trucked on and as soon as we got there the clouds (literally) parted and he got down on one knee! He even had my other best friend Lani hiding in a tree to get all the photos! It was really beautifully thought out.
First Look?
We did a first-look, which Brett was really against initially, however I’m so glad we did. It was very intimate and helped relieve some pressure from the rest of the day.
How did you feel during your vows or before you walked down the aisle?
I was definitely feeling anxious, but having my dad walking me down while the band played “I Want To Hold Your Hand” was so perfect.
Any traditions?
What was your favourite moments from the wedding?I have two distinct favourite moments – hearing my bridesmaid and best friend Lani sing an acoustic version of Valerie by Amy Winehouse was so special. She has such an incredible voice, I could live that moment a thousand times over. Also seeing my brothers up in the chairs for The Horah was hilarious!
Pedro St James offers lush garden views, a gorgeous historical building in the background, ocean cliff views and swaying coconut trees.
Photography advice?
Amazing! Although I’ve known you forever, we’ve never really worked one on one like this and it felt very warm and natural.
Pedro St James has stunning cliff views and is even more so at sunset.

Our first dance was ‘Valerie’ by Amy Winehouse. The father-daughter dance was ‘One Love’ by Bob Marley and the mother-son dance was ‘What A Wonderful World’ by Louis Armstrong.
