Cute Story
Eric and I met on a dating app. If you’ve tried dating in a big city in your 20s it’s rough! He called me one day after work to plan our first date. I was packing a bag to go stay at a friends house and accidently Facetimed him. I had just gotten out of the pool and looked like a wet rat! I was so embarrassed. We ended up talking forever that night about family and our lives. My accidently move seemed bold and confident to him! He loved it and I was so anxious about it! Eric convinced me to come watch Texas A&M football the next day. I was so nervous but excited to hang out with him and his friends. I can say I felt immediately welcomed by him and his best friend Sean. We played black jack for hours, watched football and shared endless laughs. I felt welcomed immediately and like to think I got Eric’s attention quickly
The story of the Dress
My dress was not love at first sight. My stylist pulled it off the rack and I shook my head NO! My mom encouraged me to try it on and it was love a first try! My dress was a fairytale to me! It was perfectly romantic and felt like it was made for me. I was with my mother, sister and grandmother. The moment I walked out they were all gasping and covering their mouths.
How did Eric pop the question….
Eric and my maid of honour Mimi were the ultimate schemers! Mimi sent me tickets for an event that appeared to come from her company. I encouraged Eric to come to the 12 days of Christmas at the Dallas Arboretum with me. Little did I know they were Eric’s tickets he purchased and sent to Mimi. I had no clue he was going to ask me! He started on his prepared speech talking about us and how we met… until I started arguing about the details of the story. If you know me, you know that is typical. I don’t know if I worsened or eased the nerves of that night but when we got down on one knee I was so shocked! He popped the question in front of the big Christmas tree and I was grinning ear to ear! Mimi and a photographer were hiding in the bushes taking photos. Afterwards we went to Bob’s Steakhouse in Dallas which was one of our first dates!
Where did most of your guests come from
The vast majority of our guests flew in from overseas. We cannot say thank you enough times to everyone who came from near or far to celebrate us. We felt so loved through the week and day it was amazing.
How did you feel walking down the aisle
I was so nervous and my dads nerves did not help one bit! Once I saw Eric I calmed down entirely.
Any traditions at your wedding
We got married in the same church as my parents and it was a sweet moment.
Taking pictures with your bridal party was…..
Feeling the love from the girls is an emotion I will never forget. It was nice to be surrounded by my girls. The guys were a blast to take photos with. They were light hearted and so playful. An amazing balance of people!
Any advices for others planning an overseas wedding….
Don’t do it! Just kidding! My mom was amazing and so was Annika! I cannot thank them both enough.
Any advise on photography
Rebecca has taken photos of me since I was a baby. There is no one I could imagine taking on the task of shooting my wedding. I had no clue what I wanted but I knew I trusted her and her family entirely.
Any highlights from your wedding to mention…
I’d like to highlite the smiles between us as a group. We are all so close.
First Dance
First dance was Joy of my Life by Chris Stapleton. This song just reminds me so much of how much I love Eric and how often he tells me how much he loves me and feels loved by me. Father daughter was Elton John’s Blessed. My dad used to sing the song to me in my moms belly! The line “your eyes may be green or the bluest I’ve ever seen” always stuck out to me. The thought of my sweet dad imagining what his forever best friend would look like is a sweet thought to me. Mother son dance was I thought you Should Know by Morgan Wallen
What was your favourite moments from the day
Watching Eric and his mom dance was so sweet. The first time I heard that song it immediately reminded me of him and his mom. When he chose it for his dance with her it brought tears to my eyes. Our last dance was surreal! It felt like the party had just started and we had this moment where it was just us diving into life together as a unit. Dancing with my brother Gannon and my sister Raegan. Dancing with all of our siblings. Trying to go around and say hi to everyone!
How did the wedding planner handle the madness….
