Alanna and Mossie were married at the Molino del Duque which is an old flour mill built at the beginning of the 8th century in the valley of the town of Manilva.

How was your day…

This was literally the best day of our lives, if we could redo it all again (in slow motion) we 100% would!! We’re so grateful to all our suppliers and friends and family for helping make it so amazing!

The Venue

Molino del Duque was perfection. Again we saw it online first and it did not disappoint when we saw it in real life. We loved everything about it, its so beautiful and unique with something new to notice everytime you see it. The venue’s team were amazing as well, they couldn’t have been more wonderful to work with

Decor

Deseo florists did all of our flowers, candles etc and they did a beautiful job – they perfectly encapsulated what we were looking for! Ivory Feather in Ireland did all of our wedding stationary which was stunning and tied in perfectly. My lovely bridesmaid Keva helped me with the signage which looked absolutely beautiful also. We did a DIY job on the seating plan and wedding favours which was tricker than we expected but it was totally worth it in the end!

The Dress

It didn’t take too long to find but I went to a few shops to make sure I got to try on some different styles. I first saw it online and loved it, it was exactly what I wanted. I went to try it on in person with my mum and as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one!

How did you both meet

We met at a wedding. My friend Laura from work married Mossie’s cousin Neil (who also works with me!). We spent the weekend hanging out and then Mossie asked me out (once he got over his initial shock of realising I had a cat, Nemo – who he now adores btw). The rest, as they say, is history!

First Look

I did a first look with my Dad which was a really special moment that I will treasure forever, there were tears from both of us! My mum and my sister helped me into my dress which was also a beautiful memory and spending the morning getting ready with my bridesmaids was the best start to a magical day!

Traditions

We did a bit of both, my Dad walked me down the aisle, we did a first dance and a father-daughter dance but we didn’t do a wedding cake and we cut down on some of the speeches to try to keep them short and sweet – more time for partying!

How did Mossie propose

He proposed in this beautiful park that is one of our favourite spots in Marbella (we call it turtle park) during a morning walk. It was a complete surprise! We then celebrated with my family before he whisked me away for two nights to enjoy our engagement! He had it all planned out down to the smallest detail, it was absolutely perfect!

The Walk down the Aisle – How did you feel

Unbelievably happy, excited and so lucky!

First Kiss

It was perfect! It was such an exciting moment to mark that we had just gotten married and were about to start the rest of our lives together

Special touches

We put a lot of thought into picking music that was fun and upbeat but also very special to us, we wanted to have high energy throughout the day. We did polaroid pictures of each guest for our seating plan and messages in tiny bottles for favours – we were so grateful to all our friends and family for travelling for our big day so it was important to us to show our gratitude through personal touches! We also had McDonalds for our late night food which will forever be one of the best decisions we made – only made possible through our amazing planner Raquel!

Fun Photos

Getting to spend time together on the day and be silly, we were totally out of our comfort zone getting our pictures taken but Rebecca made it so fun!!

The Reception

I think one of my absolute highlights was coming into the dinner reception with our bridal party to the song we had picked! Everyone was so enthusiastic and created such an exciting, high energy atmosphere it was SO fun, I loved every minute! The party itself was amazing, we were on the dance floor all night and Who Killed The DJ were amazing at keeping the party going!

How did it go

All we wanted was for our friends and family to enjoy the day and looking around seeing them all have the best day and feeling all their positivity and support made the day ten times better for us! We were also slightly (irrationally) nervous about the weather but we couldn’t have gotten a better day!
