The Dress

I went to many many wedding dress shops and during covid at time hilariously paired the most beautiful dresses with covid masks! I enjoyed the process so much going with some close friends and family (although limited guests at this time) I found it so hard to choose just one as they are so many amazing dresses out there but soon learned what suited my shape and then just as we thought we had exhausted all shops my Mum and sister picked out a dress when I was running late to a shop and it turned out to be everything I wanted that I hadn’t been able to find in any other dresses and the wedding shop helped me so much to personalise it to what I had imagined in my head.

Cute Story

It was so special to share our wedding with our 8 month baby Lily, as our wedding had been postponed for covid, we decided to try for a baby before to see what happened and there she was there on our wedding day and looking so cute!

How did you meet

We met in what feels old fashioned these days in a little club in Hitchin. I saw that David had a picture of a dog on his phone whilst he was sat in the corner of the bar and thought ‘he must be a nice guy’, and fancied him instantly, normally I’d be too shy to go straight up to someone but I did go and start talking to him and a week later we were on our first date!

How did Dave pop the question

In Mykonos, I had an inkling that he might propose at some point but on this trip hadn’t seen any signs whatsoever and it hadn’t happened a few nights into the trip and then on an evening we decided to have dinner on our balcony watching the sunset , he brought out a bottle of bubbles and said he had something to ask me. It was so perfect and for once in my life I was lost for words not believing it had happened!

Unique items from your wedding day

Yvonne at the venue made us a lovely memory wall for special guests no longer with us, it was very touching for us and the guests, it was titled ‘wish you were here’ a bit like the holiday home show!

Grooms Outfits

We went together to Cambridge’ with our baby daughter to a suit shop, knowing what we were looking for and found exactly what we wanted, a holiday feel beige lightweight suit with the added bonus or getting it tailored and personalised right down to the stitching on the button holes. We paired it with tan accessories and braces for him and his groomsmen

Memorable bridal party photos

Capturing the fun we all have together and the close bonds we have, we have some very special people in our lives! I hear the groomsmen we’re having great fun in the morning getting ready and can’t wait to see what they were up to!

Any advice to other couples

Use Sunshine Weddings! They were so helpful from start to finish, from finding our venue, our vendors, planning the day and helping to deliver the perfect experience. I couldn’t have done it without Scott, Cicilia and the team. Also special shout out to Yvonne from our venue who delivered above and beyond on decorations and also general queries for our stay.

Did you see each other before the wedding

We are both family people and therefore we had a great sit down BBQ with all of our close family and some of the wedding party the evening before, it was lovely to relax all together the evening before, wind down with no rushing about. We didn’t however stay together in the bridal suite, it was a kiss goodnight and then had my best friend with me just like old sleepover times of staying up until midnight chatting! I didn’t then see David until I walked down the aisle… we did send each other cards in the morning and I heard he there were a few tears from David and knew it would be a special day!

Photography advise

Have a look at what style you like, what shots are important to you, a list of pictures and people you want in the pictures is so helpful on the day! And don’t forget to just relax once you get to the big day

How did you feel before you walked down the aisle

Just before we walked down the aisle, I remember my Mum saying ‘this is it’ and ‘your Dad should be doing this’ with my Dad no longer with us we always knew it would be a man emotional moment and in so glad my Mum and I did as we always have, stayed strong and made the most of every special moment we have! As soon as I saw David I couldn’t stop smiling and it was so sweet that he had a few tears

Live music

We had the Gypsy Bros during cocktails and canapés and then again to get the party started in the evening, they were amazing at making our wedding feel romantic, Spanish and to start off the dancing in holiday style. We then had Magasax in the evening as a surprise for our guests, everyone loved the saxophone vibe which paired so well with the DJ sets, it felt so euphoric and we didn’t stop dancing from start to finish!

How would you describe your overall wedding experience

Amazing! Better than we could have even imagined. All of our guests kept saying how it was so perfect and so emotional, love literally was ‘all around’’

How was your experience taking photos with us

So so lovely working with Rebecca and Noah on our wedding. What a lovely dream team, bouncing ideas off each other and having fun. They made us feel super relaxed, listened to our ideas, came up with great ideas for the shots and had fun with us

Favourite moments from the wedding

There are a few moments that will stay in my head forever, the amazing speeches, David, my Mum and the best man Andy did a stellar job, each speech was individual, personal, emotional and witty! After dinner we went up to the tower to do some photo and video shots but it turned out to be so special to me as I felt we were completely alone dancing in a dream world feeling on cloud nine! And then when we had our first dance the feeling of all our loved ones dancing around us made me feel so full of love!

Were you nervous about anything that day

David was very nervous about his speech and then did the most amazing speech! I am so proud of him and I know he spent so much time making it perfect

How did you choose your venue

We loved how it was a typical rustic Spanish Villa/Hacienda and we love this area of Spain for the mountains and white washed villages of which were in the background
