I was so excited to share with you the feature of Maria and Martin in Style Me Pretty, but now wanted to share with you some of the images I love and to tell you a little of how they were able pull off this amazing event!
Maria, who is a professional ballerina has been working with the New York City Ballet since 1994. She performs and travels world wide. Martin left his home town in England at a young age to become an actor. After a 12 year career with the Royal Ballet and joining the cast of dirty dancing, Martin and Maria were cast together by Chris (Wheeldon) who indulged in some artistic match-making and thought it could be really special to put them together on stage. They were paired together in a duet ironically named “Je ne t’aime pas” from a ballet, “There where she Loved”. The rest is history as they say….. (I couldn’t make this up…. wow how lovely eh…..)
Maria designed her whole wedding and with the help of Celebrations her vision was transformed into what you see below. Her gorgeous dress was by Selia Yang and Martin’s suit was made by MY Suit, Her Aunt Sue makes cakes as a hobby and you can clearly see “no need to keep that a hobby, eh love”. The invitations and the rhinestone starfish were designed by Simply Posh Design. The candies Maria had as favours were personalized M&Ms for Martin and Maria!!!! During the Ceremony Martin got chocked up so he stopped during the vows to take a swig of water, which made everyone relax and added a bit of humour… poor guy! Their first dance was choreographed by Chris Weeldon (a famous ballet choreographer) who actually had a lot to do with hooking these two up! The mother and son dance was to die for…. they came out to ABBA and then the whole family came and joined them with props and all… yep all 10 of them.
The decor at this wedding was stunning, Maria really took pride in every detail, the tables were stunning and the M&M favours were so cute, they actually had pictures of their faces on them.
When I got into Maria’s room she had some things on the table as she was finishing her makeup I took a few pics of them…. her speech to Martin and her little camera with a picture of them and a cup of coffee….
I love this shot!
This is the beginning of their ‘first look’! This allowed us to go off together for shots before the ceremony so that we could capture the best light! How cute is this eh?
Being a professional dancer…. well it helps a bit!
Acknowledging with great thanks….
