How Did He Pop the Question?
It was right before the holidays and we were leaving for Cayman the next day, so we decided to go out to dinner one last time together before the end of 2022. As we were getting ready to leave the apartment, Alex asked if I was all packed for our flight, and as I was looking at the suitcases and mentally checking things off in my head, he said, “I think you forgot something”. I turned around and he was down on one knee.
All About the Dress
My mom, sister, and I went to a few bridal stores while together in Florida for my nephew’s sailing regatta in Mar’23, and at the time I thought I found my dress, however wanted to try it on again when I got back to New York. So I went to the Monique Lhuillier boutique and ended up falling in love with a slightly different dress. I gave it some thought, and purchased the dress a few days later. Once we got closer to the big day, my mother-in-law went to each dress fitting appointment with me and sent photos and videos to to my family along the way.
How Did You Feel Walking Down the Aisle?
Thankful and loved (and a few butterflies too). I was trying to soak it all in.
How Did You Meet?
We met right before Covid on a dating app! It’s funny how things work out and how somehow we found each other. There are so many parallels between us and our families. Our moms even have the same birthday!
All About the Decor
Celebrations provided the chargers, chairs, and bar. Flower Del provided the centerpieces, floral decor on the arch, and candles. Kimpton Seafire provided the rest. Everything intertwined beautifully with one another. We wanted a relaxed, natural looking decor, as the beach backdrop speaks for itself.
Unique Things at the Wedding
When we were starting to plan our wedding, the only thing Alex really wanted was a fire dancer or fire breather, both of which were made possible because of the amazing Vicki Wheaton. And the very talented cigar roller!
Fun Moments at the Reception
I will never forget my nephew tearing up the dance floor, including his Russian dance performance. We loved dancing alongside our guests.
