Most people say that the first thing they book right after a wedding is a venue but for Damian and I it was Rebecca. We got engaged on June 14, 2013 at 7:45am and emailed Rebecca at 11:45am with 2 possible dates because there was no way we were using any other photographer! The date would have to change if she wasn’t available. Damian has known Rebecca for about 15 years and I have known Rebecca from when I used to get middle school photos taken as far back as I can remember so probably almost 20 years! So not only is she the best photographer we know, she is also a friend. If she wouldn’t have had a camera in her hand she would have had a seat at the ceremony and we were so happy that her 4 kiddos were able to come (in their kilts nonetheless!).
Once we set the date, we then went for a “quick” meeting with Rebecca to talk about what our plans and ideas were. 2 hours later she had us even more excited about everything and was great at explaining the details of what sorts of books we could order afterwards and if we had any “must do’s” and “don’t do’s”. We did an engagement shoot with Rebecca 2 months before the wedding which was such a great idea because we figured out what angles and silly smiles we didn’t like and got used to “posing”. She was so great and taking her time (even though I’m sure she had 4 shoots that day and thousands of photos to edit), she never made us feel rushed and the photos turned out fabulous!
On the day of the wedding Rebecca, Gary and their entire team (we had 2 photographers, a videographer and a photo booth) was more than incredible. While I was getting my make up done Rebecca even went out of her way to make sure that lunch for the Bridesmaids was on it’s way and helped the Bridesmaids with a few tasks. We decided to do a “first look” and although I was sceptical at first, I now suggest it to all couples! It was so nice to have that first moment with just the two of us and it took off a lot of pressure off. I actually didn’t even feel nervous walking down the aisle with my Dad because I was just so excited to be with my love again.
Rebecca has such an easy going, calm sense about her that she makes you feel so at ease and comfortable. She is fantastic at making suggestions for both playful and romantic shots of the Bridal Party, and also for Damian and I. Rebecca went absolutely above and beyond – I really don’t know how she has the energy to do it all, but she truly is an amazing person and outstanding photographer. The photos (all 4,000+ of them) turned out gorgeous, I think I’ll have to switch up the ones we put in a frame every few weeks because there’s just too many good ones to choose from! We would (and do all the time) recommend her to everyone as she really is the whole package! Thank you so much for making our day SO special! xxx
