The following excerpt is from USAtoday.com:
JetBlue announced last week that it plans to begin flying to Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. JetBlue says wants to serve “the largest destination in the British Overseas Territory’s archipelago” from both New York JFK and Boston, pending regulatory approval.
JetBlue plans to fly three flights a week to Grand Cayman from New York JFK starting Nov. 15. From Boston, the airline plans to fly one round-trip flight each Saturday beginning Nov. 17.
JetBlue says Grand Cayman will be its 74th destination overall, and 23rd in the Caribbean. “Destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean now make up almost one-third of the carrier’s route network,” JetBlue says in a release announcing the Cayman Islands service.
“Our Latin America and Caribbean destinations continue to flourish and based on this support that we continue to receive from our customers, we are excited to add the beautiful Cayman Islands to our growing network,” John Checketts, JetBlue’s director of route planning, says in the release.
