What was memorable about taking pictures with your bridal party?
“We were so lucky to get ready at Kaia Kaimina – such a gorgeous home to feel relaxed and pampered.”
How did he pop the question?
“In his home town, playing hide and seek with his nephew’s in a park near Iron Bridge. His parent and best friends were there, too. The perfect sunny day in England. with ice cream and champagne.”
Tell me about your dress.
“I knew I wanted my sister and mom to be there and without too many opinions to not sway how I felt about my decision – I am one of the most awkward brides out there (thank you for your patience in trying to capture photos of me….!) and I knew I just had to love it without overthinking it too much; my sister was living in Maine at the time and the closest city for us to meet up in was Boston. I knew what I wanted to look like on the day and had a few photos that i took to every shop in the city. If I didn’t find it there I would make the trip to Miami like everyone else but I was lucky to find it almost immediately and continued my love for both Australian and furniture designers, while eating Maine lobster and oysters haha”
What was your favourite moment from the wedding?
“After waiting an additional two years, our families and friends have endured a lot with the pandemic. There was always the question of eloping or “just get it done” but having the people we love most people all in one place for us was the only thing that mattered. The wedding itself was amazing of course but we stayed in Rum Point with over 50 of our closest people for 5 days and after so long it was so rewarding and emotional to have everyone together – let alone there for us. Everyone enjoying themselves and being happy was the only thing we cared about and those memories were worth the wait.”
What made you choose your venue for your wedding?
“We loved the idea of everyone being up at Rum Point for a few nights. Everyone always says that your wedding day goes by in a blink and it’s hard talk to everyone and enjoy the moment. We were able to really enjoy our family and friends over the course of the time and Kaibo offered so much – great food, stunning back-drop, waterfront without tourists walking by. We knew pretty quickly that we wanted it there for a unique experience.”
Did you have live music?
“Denys Carbo (Sax) and Danny Loops – they were both so fantastic and really set the tone for our wedding. We didn’t want to be super traditional and they are both just so talented, we were lucky for them to be available and willing to perform!”
