Janine and Andrew | Bohemian Inspired Elopement | Cayman Islands

January 12, 2020

When Janine planned her boho inspired elopement to Andrew from overseas to take place in the Cayman Islands, she put full trust in the incredible vendors on this little island to pull off this gorgeous event.

Janine always liked the idea of a romantic and intimate elopement, while Andrew always wanted the presence of family and friends. As a compromise, they decided to elope in the Cayman Islands and have a second wedding several months after in Italy in the presence of family and friends. Both are travelers and as planning gets complicated with developing a guest list that will make sense, the couple has decided to get married every year in a different country and with a different crowd. The couple is set to marry in Italy in the year 2020.

How did you two meet?

We met during my birthday trip to the Canary islands on a full moon by the beach, overlooking the Tenerife sea in one of the clearest skies in the world.

How did he pop the question?

While visiting Italy, as his girlfriend at the time, we stayed at the groom’s home in Lake Garda. There was a castle nearby and I have told the groom I’d always wanted to marry in a castle but I am not a princess. Andrea then told me to bring a white dress, and have a pretend wedding with pictures and everything. When we reached the top, he popped the question.

What was your favourite moments from the wedding?

When the chickens started to attack our wedding cake. We were just having so much fun and laughter.

What made you choose your venue for your wedding?

I am an island girl and a diver, born in the Philippines and lived in Guam, so by default, I am a beach snob. I was looking for a quiet local beach not too far from New York where I currently reside, and somewhere the groom and I have not been to. Cayman checked all the boxes.
