Cute story
Adam and I talked about getting married very early on, within our first year of dating during the “honeymoon phase”. We came back to the idea 8 years later! Lol
How did you choose the groom’s outfit
We searched and searched for a blue tux for Adam. When we couldn’t find one we figured why not do an outfit change? He went with a blue suit for the garden ceremony and a black tux for the reception.
Tell me about your dress
I decided to wait until after Marcus was born to go dress shopping, which means I didn’t have many options. Adam, my sisters, my mom and I flew to Dallas TX to meet up with my bridesmaid. Ify had just gotten married in May 2018 and made all my fitting appointments for me. I ended up finding a beautiful mermaid dress off-the-rack at the same boutique Ify bought her wedding dress from a year earlier. When I stepped out of the dressing room and my bridal party “oooh’d” with excitement, I knew that dress was the one.
What made you choose your venue for your wedding
We originally wanted an indoor wedding with a view, but the Kimpton’s lawn was so effortlessly beautiful that we were sold on our first visit. The Aurea Lawn gave us ‘secret garden’ vibes – perfect for our intimate ceremony.
How did you two meet
On live TV! I interviewed Adam on Daybreak about a charity event in 2011…pity we now can’t find the footage! We ran into each other again at a carnival photo shoot and went on our first date the next day. We saw each other everyday since.
Can you tell us something cute or unique about your wedding
I chose to have both my mom and dad walk me up the aisle.
Did you do a first look
We didn’t do a first look. We wanted the preserve the magic of the moment we stood under the arch together, seeing each other for the first time.
Adam what was your favourite part of the day
Seeing Janelle walk down the aisle towards me and having Marcus there at the end.

Janelle What was your favourite moments from the wedding
Hearing Adam recite his vows and the speeches by my dad and my older sister. Those moments brought me to tears.
Were there any unique items in your wedding that you would like to highlight?
Our son Marcus is the light of our lives and we were so happy to have him included in our recessional.
How did he pop the question
Adam surprised me with a sunset proposal on seven mile beach. He’d set out a beautiful heart shape in the sand with tealights and rose petals. It was a gorgeous sunset that day and that was so special because one of our favourite ways to spend time together is sitting on the beach watching the sun go down. Of course I said yes, and a crowd of beach goers and our family and friends burst into applause. All that was left to do was pop some champagne and start planning!

What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about…
Adam and I were both so relaxed in the months leading up to the wedding day. We’d been together 8 years and were so focused on our new baby that we barely had time to feel any wedding jitters. But we were so emotional on the day! The tears started for both of us as soon as we saw each other at either end of the wedding aisle.
How was your experience taking photos with me on your wedding day
Awesome! Rebecca is such a pro. She made us laugh, and made the process fun and easy. A big bonus for me was that Rebecca is so good at helping you manage the mania of all the guests trying to get photos with the bride and groom! ( me: 🙂 thank you xxx)
