The Dress
I actually saw my dress online on Suzanne Neville’s page as part of her new collection at the time. I had tried on a few dresses around that time and was dying to try it on. However I couldn’t find a store in Ireland who were stocking it so was quite disappointed. A few weeks later I had an appointment in Serendipity and by chance they had a sample of the dress in stock and it was due to go back to London the following day. I was delighted I could try it on and instantly fell in love with it- it felt like it was meant to be!
How was your bridesmaids vibe
My bridesmaids were the best “hype girls” and were in full party mode from 9am onwards! We had great fun taking photos up in the tower in our pyjamas.
How did you meet and how did he pop the question
We met when we were teenagers and have been together for 11 and a half years! We arranged a weekend away with friends in July 2020 when the lockdown restrictions were eased. Brendan surprised me when we went down early and he proposed on the beautiful Howth cliffs just outside Dublin. Our friends joined us later and we had a great weekend (and few weeks) of celebrations to follow!
How did you feel just before the ceremony
I travelled in a car with my mum from the Hacienda to the church in Mijas pueblo and the driver took us on a scenic route via Alhaurin el Grande. The views were just amazing and it felt like we were on a plane going through the mountains! It was so relaxing and after all the buzz and excitement of the morning getting ready it was lovely to sit and chill like this before the ceremony. Thank you to our wonderful driver who then brought Brendan and I the same way back to the Hacienda so he could enjoy the views too!
Live Music
Naiara Castillejo played violin during our ceremony and she played so beautifully and elegantly. Nano played guitar and he was just amazing- some of our guests commented that they initially thought it was a playlist of recorded music until they saw him in the corner, he sounded so good!
Favourite moments
We have too many! We loved our first dance. Another standout was that Cristina from Sunshine weddings arranged for us to have 15 minutes alone together at the end of our drinks reception while our guests took their seats. She had sat aside a plate of canapes for us and a drink each. It was completely silent and we couldn’t hear all our guests around the corner! It was lovely to have this alone time before the speeches. We also loved when Rebecca took us to the tower for our Sunset photos and we were able to wave to all our guests having their dinner on the lawn below. Stephanie’s granny watched most of the ceremony on Facetime from Belfast so it was lovely to be able to chat to her at the end and for her to be able to share it with us in this way.
How would you describe your wedding
It sounds cliche but just magical
DJ
DJ Pedro who was brilliant and really got the party going.
Dancing
We danced to L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole. We had mentioned this as an idea for our first dance years ago and it jokingly “performed” for our friends on too many occasions at the end of parties and nights out so it had to be this one!
Planning
Our planner was great. We have quite busy lifestyles so it was great having Cicilia keep us in check with the weekly excel sheet updates lol On the day Cristina ran a tight ship and I honestly feel she took away all my stress so thank you!
