Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one? Who were you with? How did you choose the grooms outfit?
Sarah went shopping with her mum, mother in law, and sister in law, Tia. She had adamantly declared she didn’t want a lace dress but thank goodness someone knew what they were doing. Tia picked up this (entirely lace!) dress and gently insisted that she put it on! Cue the tears – it was perfect!
The whole day and experience was made even more special as the dress shop was was in the city where ‘Nanny’ (Sarah’s grandmother) was from, who she sadly passed away before the two could marry. The Scrabble name places on the wedding favours are also a nod to her.
Cayman Destination Wedding on Seven Mile Beach, Villas of the Galleon
As per the best man’s (Rich Leppard’s) speech: Joe traveled to the Cayman Isles with not a thought in mind. But in this heaven he found his dream and what a special find. The following day a Facebook add he takes it in his stride. As time goes by they fall in love and move into their home. Lots more homes along the way and now a dog to roam. Off to Paris, they do go Joe was quite insistent It all goes well for the pair They make their life commitment.
Joe was nervously wondering if Sarah would show up to say ‘I do’! Sarah was having much more fun dancing through the sprinklers which decided to come on just as she walked down the aisle!

Hire Rebecca Davidson!
She has a natural ability to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Additionally if you’re traditional like us and a ‘First Look’ photo shoot isn’t for you, then have a ‘Trash the Dress’ session after the wedding. I can’t recommend this enough! Another opportunity to have your hair and makeup done, and to get to re wear your dream dress. You also get to relive the happiness you had on the day, all over again, with just the two of you.
We thought we found a secluded spot on the beach for portraits but were very rudely disturbed by this outrageous photo bombers!!!!!! Typical West Bay!
We were the only ones at this deserted park with gorgeous Cayman light and trees and a typical Cayman Cottage.
How did he pop the question?
Many have joked that Sarah set up her own engagement by planning a trip to Paris and organising a romantic dinner at the Michelin starred ‘Le Jules Verne’ in the Eiffel Tower. But Joe had better surprises yet and on the walk to dinner he got down on one knee with champagne celebrations following.
Joe’s advice is to go for a snorkel the morning before the wedding with the boys. And then visit the local for a quick rum!
Sarah grew up and went to school in the Cayman Islands, and had always dreamed of a beach wedding. The pair met in the Cayman Islands and are moving back from the UK in August 2016 so it seemed only right!
How did you find your photographer? Online research? Word of mouth?
Rebecca has filmed some of Sarah’s best friends weddings and having seen her in action and the amazing photos she has taken, it was by far the easiest decision of the wedding!
