The wedding of Ashley and Stephen Devine in Estepona, Spain at a beautiful destination venue. It was an incredible opportunity for two families to join together and celebrate this couple’s very special and memorable moment in their lives and they all danced the night away.
They were so lucky to have their close family and friends come from all over the world. Their grandparents and relatives who could not make it over were extremely missed and in their thoughts on this special occasion. They cannot wait to share these memories with them through our stories and photographs.
Since we are from different countries (Texas, US and Ireland) and guests come in from all around the world, we were able to incorporate the different cultures into the wedding. It was a great way to celebrate each other and share a memorable moment in our lives with our guests. After dinner and the speeches, we turned on the country music and everyone joined into some line dancing and Texas two-stepping. Later on in the evening, a couple of the Groomsmen performed Irish Brush Dancing with everyone cheering them on!
I found my dress when I was back home in Spring, Texas at a boutique call The Princess Bridal Boutique. I went wedding dress shopping with my mother and two sisters. We went to several stores, and could not find ‘the one’. One our last store we were going to, I found my wedding dress and fell in love with it. It was very special to get to say yes to a dress with my family.
We chose Spain for our destination as we wanted a summer wedding with warm weather. Spain seemed the best choice for guaranteed sun.
We met in February of 2016 in London. We were both in London for work and living in the same borough, and met in a local pub. We were dating afterwards for the next 2 years before Stephen proposed.
We got engaged in London at Primrose Hill in August 2018. We went to have a picnic on the hill for the evening where we watched the sun the go down. Once the sunset, Stephen proposed and I say yes!
As we are from different countries, we wanted a destination wedding. I was able to find Sunshine Weddings through online research for destination wedding locations and venues.
I was nervous about speaking as we did our own vows, but excited to marry Stephen.
My favorite moment from the wedding was our vows. We wrote our own vows, and recited them to each other. We were both extremely nervous about it beforehand. But I am so happy we did as it made the ceremony so special and personal to us. We will definitely not forget this moment.
Our overall wedding experience was fantastic! It was beyond our expectations, and we had such a great time celebrating our wedding with our close family and friends.
We had a blast taking pictures with our bridal party. Our photographer had so many cute an unique ideas for photos which made taking the photos fun. Since the sides of the bridal party got ready together, we were able to get photos and videos throughout the entire day.
As it was a small wedding and we had guests flying in from all over the world, we had a dinner party the evening before at a beach restaurant. It was a great way for all the guests to meet each other, and we were able to spend more time with each of them other than just on the day.
Our first dance song was to ‘The One’ by Kodaline. Our father daughter dance song was to ‘My Little Girl’ by Tim McGraw.
My experience with Rebecca as our photographer was amazing! She had so much energy and GREAT ideas that made taking the photos so much fun for both the bridal party and Stephen and I. We are beyond happy that we were able to have Rebecca as a photographer. She even sent and showed photo ideas prior to the wedding, and on the day made it all so seamless / stress free.
