SLIDESHOW

We met at Compass Point/Ocean Frontiers (East End, Grand Cayman) in 2011. We were on a dive trip shared between two dive shops (from Ohio & Massachusetts), whose owners were friends. There were some social events planned as part of the trip as well as time spent diving and relaxing by the pool. We hit it off, kept in touch after the trip and started visiting back and forth between the 2 states. After about a year and a half Carol made the move to Massachusetts to be with Michael full time.

Seeing Carol in her dress for the first time. Sharing our vows. Minister’s thoughtful remarks during the ceremony.

Knowing I didn’t want a traditional wedding dress I was excited to find something unique that fit our theme at a large party dress shop. It was layers of different fabrics topped with tulle and beading in colors that looked like I stepped out of the ocean – perfect for our beach wedding.

Do it! We debated a lot about the limiting factors that would/not allow much of our family/friends to attend a destination wedding. In the end we decided that where we met held the most meaning for us as the best location. We were happy for those that were able to attend and know we’ll have wonderful photos to share with those that couldn’t be there.

How did you feel during your vows or just before you walked down the aisle?
Excited!

Steve & the crew at Compass Point/Ocean Frontiers and Lana & the gang at Eagle Rays & Tukka’s went above and beyond to make our day special, providing great settings for our ceremony and reception. Jackie Soriano provided a wonderful hair and makeup experience for the ladies. Her skills and experience showed in her ability to create beauty and ‘windproof’ results!

Awesome! We spent a lot of time planning all the details and theme and everything came together perfectly. It was great to find such good people to work with (venues, vendors) to help us plan and create our ideal wedding.

Etsy was a great resource for finding customized items. We purchased our cake topper, sand ceremony jar, barefoot sandals, and bridesmaids gifts from various vendors.

Our first dance song was Better Place by Rachel Platten. This was a slow dance immediately followed by a more upbeat east coast swing dance to Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon.

We met on Grand Cayman so this place has special meaning to us.
