Cayman Islands Wedding at the Wharf | Taylor + Bobby Married |Wedding Film
June 1, 2015
Robert and Taylor met and dated in high school, stayed friends all throughout college and started dating again a few years ago. Of course, because Taylor has grown up coming to the Cayman Islands and her two older sisters were married in the Cayman Islands, it was an easy choice for this couple. When the family called me to let me know that they were heading back to Cayman for wedding number 3, I was so excited. So this is officially my HAT TRICK wedding. Taylor decided to get ready at Shangri la Caymans award winning luxury bed and breakfast, which is stunning, the rooms are gorgeous and the gardens are amazing. We put Taylors dress outside amongst the yellow Poui trees and her sisters were all helping her get ready. The Wharf was the perfect venue for the ceremony, the beach, the fabulous food and decor.
He proposed at the zoo in Des Moines, Iowa where we had our very first date. He is a sneaky man! Weeks before the day, he told me he was going to Okoboji for a guys weekend. As I was hanging out with some girlfriends, I got a million group text messages from my family talking about national giraffe day at the Des Moines Zoo and how we were going to get our family Christmas card picture there, so of course I HAD to be there. I walk into the zoo and explain to the lady that I’m looking for my family to take a picture with the giraffes. The zoo is empty and I can’t get ahold of anyone in my family! (Isn’t that always what happens when you need people…they don’t answer!) I started walking on the boardwalk to the giraffes, and I look down to see hearts leading up to the gazebo that say “God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you.” At that point, everything clicks! I follow the hearts to the gazebo and see a bouquet of flowers with a computer that has music and slideshow pictures of Bobby and I. As the slideshow ends, I turn to see Bobby walking down the boardwalk…he comes up to the gazebo and gets down on one knee. As I shake my head yes, I think to myself, “I am the luckiest girl in the world!”
There were a few rain drops this day but that did not put a damper on anything….
Honestly, the things that went wrong–it helps to make the day even more special and memorable than it already was.
Phenomenal, I am so happy that we got married in Cayman
Get the big things such as venue, photography, cake, flowers etc out of the way…and make sure to do things more in advanced because most of the time you are working through email and it may take longer than expected to get things nailed down. And don’t stress!!
INCREDIBLE! You are AMAZING and we absolutely love you and your work!
We did see each other before the wedding and I am so glad we did! That gave time for Bobby and I to have moments together with no one else around it was something we will always cherish.
Honestly, we were blessed with Rebecca and the Picture This team, so we didn’t have any stressful things to worry about it–they took care of all the wedding photos and wedding party photos and helped everything to go smoothly.
Get married on an island–Cayman Islands if you have the option, it is absolutely beautiful (if you get married in Cayman, seriously contact Rebecca Davidson and Picture This, they are incredible!! Getting married on the beach makes everything so laid back and takes the stress out of normal weddings.
God Blessed the Broken Road–First Dance My Little Girl–Father-Daughter Dance Forever Young–Mother-son Dance
We love Cayman! Taylor grew up visiting the Cayman Islands and wanted to share the special place with Bobby–he of course loved it and we decided to get married there!
