Unique Wedding Story
“Our wedding was a mix of Indian and English, so we blended both of the cultures together through our outfits, the food and also the wedding reception. We knew that we wanted to bring both of the cultures and families together with a destination wedding and we both love Spain so thought that it would be the perfect place!”
Decor
“We wanted to give our wedding a personal touch, so a lot of our wedding stationary was made by me! (Sharan) I come from a design background so was a perfect project.”
How would you describe your overall wedding experience
“We loved our wedding day and the venue which we chose was super special. Having a destination wedding meant that we could incorporate everything that we love about Spain into our day!”
The Dress
“I always knew that I wanted to wear an Indian outfit, but I’m definitely not the traditional girl and knew that I wanted something more modern and in line with our amazing wedding venue. I decided to start my wedding outfit shopping in London and it didn’t take long before I found my perfect outfit! Although not the designer I had originally researched into, I am glad I went with a Seema Gujral piece and Roops Couture were really helpful with customising it!”
Live Music
“We had Nano a guitarist welcoming our guests and during our ceremony and to get our party started we had the amazing saxophonist, Magasax at our wedding reception. We worked closely with him to get our perfect playlist, he was definitely one of our wedding highlights (apart from each other of course!).”
What advice would you offer other couples
“Make sure to find great wedding planners! They really do help when it comes to finding the perfect suppliers for you and communication is key, although it can be a little stressful because the wedding is in a different country everything does all come together on the day.”
How did Jon pop the question
“Jon had actually surprised me with a trip to Spain, where he had already organised the hotel and a boat trip, however due to covid restrictions we weren’t able to fly out. (I genuinely thought he was just taking us on a surprise holiday!) However, he didn’t disappoint! a few weeks after finding out that our Spain trip had been cancelled, he then said he had booked another trip away and to my delight we were going to another one of our favourite places…London. He had booked us to stay in the Shangri-La The Shard and popped the question that evening followed by an amazing dinner and weekend!”
How did you feel during your vows
Sharan: “I actually felt really good walking down the aisle, I think because we had been talking about the wedding for what seemed to be forever I was super excited to be getting married. “
Jon: “I was really calm in the morning but waiting for Sharan at the end of the aisle seemed to take forever and then I started to feel nervous!”
What was your favourite part of the wedding
Sharan: “Seeing Jon at the end of the aisle and also seeing everything that we had organised with Sunshine Weddings come together! It was also really nice that after Covid our families could join and be apart of our wedding day with us.”
What photography related advice would you give
“When picking for a wedding photographer definitely do your research, check out reviews, their website and social media. Also try and speak to them prior to your wedding so that you know who they are and gauge if they are right for you. On the wedding day, trust your photographer and relax!”
What made you choose your wedding venue
“We had to pick our wedding venue during Covid over a video call which was not ideal! However, even via video we immediately knew that it was the one for us. Then after finally being able to visit it during our first wedding visit with Sunshine Weddings we were blown away by the breathtaking views and knew it would be perfect for our wedding!”
How was working with the photographer
“We throughly enjoyed our experience with Rebecca on our wedding, she was calming and we had lots of trust in her that she would get the exact moments we wanted.”
Favourite part of the wedding for Jon
Jon: “Apart from seeing Sharan my favourite moment was partying with Magasax at the wedding reception.”
How was your experience with sunshine weddings
“Working with Cicilia at Sunshine Weddings was great, she helped us immensely with planning and made sure that we had everything booked that we needed at the right times. We would definitely recommend them to anyone else getting married over in Spain, the knowledge that they have is second to none!”
