The Dress
I had tried on dresses at Annika before – I love this boutique and my friend had gotten her dress here as well! I thought I had the one picked out and went to purchase it when I was home for Thanksgiving last year. But I ended up trying on a few others and fell in love with this one instead! I bought it that day off the rack and took it home with me to Spain!
Live Music
Annya played the electric violin, she had great energy and played an amazing variety of music for our guests as they arrived, were seated at the ceremony, and then picked up the party after the ceremony during the drinks reception.
What was Something Cute or Unique About Your Wedding?
We recently moved from San Diego, CA to Madrid, Spain on New Years Eve 2022 to start a new adventure! It took us a whole year prior to get paperwork in order and figure out our jobs before moving, but we were so excited to start our lives here! We quickly met a great group of friends and we were so excited to show our family and friends from the US our new home! We knew we wanted to get married in Spain, but we also love the beach — so what is better than Marbella! We selected our venue in the fall of 2022 and then got to planning. We really wanted each of our guests to feel the love and appreciation for making the big trip to Spain (many for their first time!). So we brought our 65 closest friends and family and gave them a 4 day party in Marbella. We feel so blessed to have been able to throw this amazing week of events and spend quality time with each and everyone of our guests! We even extended the week into a ‘friends-moon’ in Malaga and then Mallorca!
How Did He Pop the Question?
During a family vacation in San Diego with the groom’s family, they pretended that we were going to take family photos on the beach. After everyone snuck out of the house, we were the last 2 to arrive at the beach. As I scanned the beach looking for where this important photoshoot was taking place (must be if everyone had to leave us behind! 😀 ), I suddenly saw a bunch of rose petals and candles on the beach. I was still not sure what was happening but as we walked towards it until I saw my mom and brother and sister standing with brendans family out past the petals. I looked at him and I knew. After he proposed, our whole family ran over to celebrate with champagne and a photoshoot! Then we went back to the airbnb for tacos and margaritas! It was the best weekend surprise celebration!
How Did You Meet?
We met at UW Madison Natalie’s freshman year. Her roommate, Erica, knew the groom from high school and quickly introduced us. However it wasn’t until 2 years later as the groom was in his last semester at school did we start to see more of each other. The rest is history!
