All About The Dress
I was scrolling thru instagram and I saw the page of Dodona Avdiu, she dressed a famouse singer from Kosovo that singed with a algerian singer. So I saw her tagging the designer so I went thru and sent her a message with the dress I wanted. She was so kind she then invited me to Pristina where her showroom was. I fell in love with her work. My dress was finish in 3 months 🙂 its all handmade.
The Suit
Marco went to a famous tailer in Germany with his best-man. They went choose all the fabrics and colors. After 4 weeks they called Marco and said some Fabrics were out of stock… so he had to change the whole outfit. We went there and the lady was not happy about the white color choice. She was insecure that it was going to be see-thru but Marco knew it was gonna look good, so he trusted his feeling.
Can you tell us something cute or unique about your wedding?
It was a non-religious ceremony. Just talking about love and us and we think that was beautiful. Mahissa is Muslim and Marco is christian and we accept each others culture and religion and that’s awesome because we showed all that love is love; it doesn’t matter what religion, what color, what culture you have, if there is love and respect and acceptance that is all you need.
How Did He Pop The Question?
So he lied to me and told me we are going to a gala dinner with his dad. I was excited after corona to go on a gala meet people have good drinks etc. So Friday night (the night before) he tells me: “listen the gala is a gala lunch so we need to get up early.” I was upset because I have very curly hair and I need my time to get ready. I knew I would not sleep enough and my hair was gonna be a deserter. So I was kind of upset and I asked him if I really need to come. He said “of course i’m not going alone, please do your hair now.” So I did my hair the night before. In the morning Marco was kind of weird, he was walking up and down the apartment. I was getting dressed and I wanted to put my high heels on and then Marco said to me: “you know we need to walk a bit, let’s take the high heels in a separate bag and put sneakers on.” i was like okay?!?!?!?! So we drove in the direction of the GALA Lunch. We arrived and he parks on a helicopter landing pad. I was like: “where is your dad? I don‘t understand, did you take the wrong exit?” Marco was very calm and told me, “no the gala is on a mountain and we can only get there by helicopter.” So I was like woooow what gala is this? I felt something was going on but he was so calm that I decided to enjoy it. I thought if it was not the proposal I would be sad and not enjoy the flight. So we got up there and saw all Swiss mountains and then he lands on the “Hüfi“ Glacier. Marco looks at me and tells me to please put my phone on video record and give it to the pilot. From this second, I was sure it was a proposal because Marco asked me a few years ago how iIwould like to have my proposal. I said 1) i want a video of it to remember it 2) i don‘t want to know that you are going to propose, it has to be a surprise. So we got out of the helicopter and then he asked me.
Where It All Began
We knew each other in a call center Mahissa was call agent and Marco was supervisor there and we where friends in the beginning. Marco had a girlfriend and i had a boyfriend at that time.. the funny thing is he broke up and i broke up 1 week after him with my ex… after 2 weeks both being single we had a date because a friend told him why you guys don‘t date or meet each other you match great ? And Marco wrote me a message the same day and asked me for a date.
