Mile and I wrote each other love notes the day of the wedding and I had my cousin bring it to Mile and she then brought his back to me. It was so special!
We loved EVERYTHING about our wedding!
Some of our favorite moments of the weddings:
Saying our vows and becoming officially Husband and Wife
Having Mile’s Mom with us on Skype to witness us saying our vows since she was in the Hospital in Macedonia.
Taking pictures with our family and friends with the gorgeous sunset scenery
The cold fireworks when cutting the cake
The great party down in the Night Club at Tikitano
One snowy night in February I went dress shopping with my mom at a boutique dress shop on Long Island. After looking at many gorgeous dresses with help from a phenomenal Bridal Consultant she insisted I try on this dress. I put it on reluctantly and came out. Seeing myself in this dress in the mirror, tears rolled down my face and I knew it was the one. It had fans on it and it spoke to me like it was my perfect dress. The fans were something perfect for a wedding in Spain but was more touching because it reminded me of my late grandmother and her love for Spain and fans.
The Bridesmaid’s got their dresses from Bridal Reflections, a bridal botique on Long Island. They got dresses from the Jasmine Collection in a beautiful blue color called Bluestone.
We met online and decided to go for dinner and some drinks at a place called Press 195. We ended up chatting and laughing until closing of the restaurant. We stayed up past 4am talking and had the best first date ever!
We were on Vacation in Macedonia with my Mom and Aunt visiting his whole family. We were in his hometown and had been sightseeing for days. He was nervous and carried the ring for multiple days waiting for the right time to propose. The night of August 8, 2018 he asked me to go out for a drink with him while the family stayed back at home. We walked into the center of town, went for coffee, and took pictures by the oldest ruins of a fortress. While we were walking around he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes and started to cry. We walked back to his Parents house and told the whole family! It was the best night ever- until the wedding of course!
We loved every minute of it and loved having a three day wedding experience with our guests. It was amazing to be surrounded by our closest family and friends. We really appreciated everyone’s effort to come and celebrate with us. It was amazing to have the families get to spend time together and celebrating our joining of the families.
It was truly a magical experience and the guests all raved about the wedding! Hire a Wedding Planner would be our best advice. We loved having Scott along with his team for every step of the way!
We had breakfast together that morning and once the makeup artist started to come in he went to hang out with the guys and his Dad to start getting ready for the day! He didn’t see any hair, makeup, or the dress until I walked down the aisle. It was perfect. It was so cute to see him cry when I walked down the aisle.
I felt nervous to walk down the aisle but have never been more excited to walk down the aisle and marry the man of my dreams! Mile felt nervous and very excited all at the same time. We both felt excited to start this new chapter and loved making vows in front of God and our closest family and friends.
Any wedding traditions
Macedonian Traditions: – Throwing coins, sweets, and rice when the newly married couple walks down the aisle. The coins symbolize prosperity. The sweets symbolize a sweet life together. The rice symbolizes fertility. -Music: There are traditional dances and music that are played and danced to when a couple gets married.
We had a memory table for my father and grandmother. Cold Fireworks. Everyone getting up in the middle of dinner with the traditional Macedonian dance!
We were most anxious, nervous, and fearful wondering if everything was going to go as planned and if the guest were going to have fun and have a great time. Everything went perfectly and everyone was having the best time. Everyone at one point was up and dancing in the middle of dinner!
We enjoyed the fun shots with the different poses. It was a lot of fun!
We have always wanted a Destination Wedding! We live in New York and Mile’s immediate family lives in Macedonia. It was of the utmost importance to have them there. Caroline’s Maternal Grandmother was from Spain and with her recent passing wanted to honor her legacy and we both loved Spain from previous travels.
First Dance: “Perfect” By Ed Sheeran Mother of the Bride and Bride Dance: “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Anne Womack (Caroline’s Father David Passed away) Father of the Groom, Sister of the Groom, & Groom: “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias (Mile’s Mom was in the Hospital in Macedonia awaiting surgery from a fall that happened the morning before she was supposed to get on a plane to Spain)
We found our photographer and videographer through Sunshine Weddings. We loved Rebecca’s Photos and followed her on Instagram. We knew after seeing her photos that she was perfect and her style was just what we were looking for and imagining for our own wedding!
Mile was researching Wedding Planners in Spain. He came across Tikitano and we fell in love with the photos. He then looked up Wedding Planners and this place and found Sunshine Weddings website. It was one of the best decisions we ever made and loved Scott and the whole Sunshine Team! We even got to meet Scott in person in NY while he was visiting to discuss the wedding last November.
