Kimberly and Shawn have know each other since middle school…. unbelievable! They decided to get married at the Grand Old House in the Cayman Islands and inviting their closest friends and family they pulled off an amazing event. Kimberly is a fashion designer so the dress was very important to her and she knew she wanted to have a dress with a beautiful back detail. Kimberly found this dress in a boutique in Columbus, OH called Trumpington Bridal. Her blue suede shoes she bought in 2009 while studying abroad in Paris. They were way outside of her college student budget but she needed to have them! She didn’t realize at the time that she had just bought her wedding shoes!

How did you two meet?
Middle school gym class and we had a lot of mutual friends – many who attended our wedding!
How did he pop the question? Although we had been together for a long time, moved halfway across the country together and bought a house — I was in no rush to get engaged. I was sooo surprised when Shawn got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. |

What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding? K: My dad’s speech. He’s a pretty quiet guy so I had no idea what to expect but he killed it! S: The waves during the ceremony were crazy and crashing right over the railing. My sister read the first reading and it was about how love is as constant as these never ending waves — while the water was splashing all of us in the first row. I also liked feeding the fish at night and finally getting to eat cake after 3 months of my wedding diet. Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting or would you have rather done it differently? Tell me why or why not!

Jason Moir and Dylan Beniot at Craft Food & Beverage – We had our welcome dinner at Craft Food & Beverage across the street from the Marriott hotel and it was amazing. The food, drinks and atmosphere was perfect. I gave them a budget and they handled everything else and I did not have to worry about a thing! What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome? What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for planning their wedding? |
