How we met is the best story. Marbella holds a very special place in our hearts. We met on holiday in Marbella, Paul proposed there and the obvious choice was to get married there as that’s where we found each other.

We were both on holiday with our families at the same resort in Marbella. I became friends with Paul’s sister and mother at first. Didn’t meet him till the last day before I left. Apparently his sister Sue asked him what kind of woman would be his perfect partner and after talking to him she said I’ve found her for you already. She then introduced us on the last day. Being in sales I wanted to sell to his company and he wanted get to know me. We hit it off instantly and the rest in history.

Finding the Dress

As the wedding was arranged in such a short time, I was very limited on the dresses that were available in that time. However when I saw that dress it was just perfect.

He had planned to do it in Marbella in Naranja square in the old town, in my favourite little Chapple but by the time he got the courage to do it the Chapple was closed. so he had to get down on one knee and do it outside of the closed Chapple. we had a standing ovation from people dining in the area which was beautiful.

We did not see each other on the day till the church which made it more special. It was the anticipation of seeing him waiting and him seeing me walking up. Made things more special.

Every single moment was perfect.

We had Iranian traditions of The bride and groom sit beneath a canopy held up either by female family members, or in modern weddings, by the members of the bride’s bridal party. This canopy signifies that the bride and groom are now combined under the same umbrella or roof. Perhaps the most beautiful and sensual part of the wedding ceremony. After the consent has occurred, the groom picks up a jar of honey (asal) that from the table. He dips his little finger into the jar of honey, and feeds it to the bride. She then does the same for him. This is to symbolize that they will feed each other sweetness and sustenance throughout their lives together.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day and a better wedding.
